Bits

I saw you

through a paper cut in the sky

a small pain

keenly felt

Summer ends
you murmur

the fading light
bringing memories
of yesterdays warmth

lol, I came here to demand my going away poem, and here it was, already here.
This reminds me of something I heard in a movie I watched the other night. It was called 'Sylvia' and it was about Sylvia Plath.
She was talking about searching for someone who was shaped to fit that part of you that was missing, to make you whole. It was something I'd thought of often. Now that I think about it, I don't really know why your poem reminds me of it, lol. Oh well.

Reply poem:

I saw in you a cut

the shape of me

and thought I spied

finally

a place where I might fit

Summer ends

where fading light

brings memories

a paper cut in the sky

that almost fit

the shape of I
