For the sake of it.

Rain
smears the day into
water-color Monet shades.

The blur of a hyacinth kiss
how your lips
leave pastel impressions
to decorate and enhance.

Hand me a wine
to fill my boisterous ravings
with a mulled sensibility

the underlying
rising to spill over

no cheese with that wine sir?

lol

Is it really raining there? We've had snow here! I've been away for the week. Got back last night. God, petrol is SO expensive here now! It's going up more all the time.

someone here was predicting prices of $8.00 a liter within a couple of years.

At least change will come, someone will have to develop something as an alternative to fossil fuels, something sustainable, I hope they don't use food though, thats just madness

I think they have an alternative to fuel ... it's called a bicycle, lol

I was expecting the fuel shortage, just not for at least another ten years yet. I think in the long term our lives may be altered quite a bit by the lessening of mobility. Communication by computers over distances may become much more common. Certainly more affordable.

I meant to say, you achieve a very Monet effect with this poem. Both the colours, the images and the style of poem. Light vague splashes. Well done :)

mmmmm

I would be very surprised if humanity doesn't overcome this particular blip in its onward and upward progression.

When it comes to the crunch, we always find a way to change, there just has to be an enormous amount of pain and suffering for all concerned first.

We will develop something new, something revolutionary, which will change the way we move across this planet.

And hopefully, it will be sustainable this time, rather than based on a finite resource.

I'm thinking along the lines of the ancient sub continent Indian cultures, say..... about ten thousand years ago, before they were all destroyed by nuclear conflicts.....yes, eerrr....well, I wont go into that now lol, but anyways, they developed flying vehicles which were based on mercury fuel cells and magnetic attraction/negation.

Fascinating stuff, they have pages and pages, and I'm talking thousands, of technical details about design of craft, speeds achieved etc etc...

Of course, it all ended in warfare, but then, it always does....

oh and thankyou about the Monet effect, wish I could say it was planned, I just found that opening line floating around in my head and built on that *grins*

I have sometimes wished my poetry was a little more....of an intellectual process rather than some sort of sub conscious art form, but then,I figure, why knock it, it works mostly *smile*

lol. poetry is always sub conscious. otherwise it's not poetry it's something else.

Have you seen the latest Indiana Jones movie? It tends to support your thoughts about the Indian cultures. Of course, it's always remotely possible that Indians had imaginations and dreams just the way we do, lololol
